Hassle-free furnishing solution
Selling or letting, Lis
Altman finds the answer
GEORGIA BEDDING spotted a gap in the market when she
started to develop properties.
The gap was for a company which could provide a full
“staging” service.
Georgia found she had to buy all the furniture and accessories herself – and then she was
left with them when the property was sold or rented.
“It was a huge hassle and a huge expense,” she
said.
So in 2005, in partnership with Alison Morrill, she set
up Rossclare Interiors to offer “a bespoke and cost-conscious solution to clients’ furnishing
needs”.
The company offers a wide range of services, from home
staging – which is about making your home look as appealing as possible to potential buyers – to furnishing
packages for buy-to-let owners and project management of property renovations.
“It’s especially important in today’s competitive
market to make sure your property looks the best it possibly can,” said Alison. “There’s no doubt that a
staged property appeals more than an empty one.
“It’s difficult to judge the size of an empty space,
and viewers worry if their furniture will fit. Staging is about giving people the correct perception of
space.”

Most of Rossclare’s furniture is sourced from
privately-owned Scottish companies. The target market determines the style and price range (Rossclare
provides a detailed breakdown of costs.)
Furniture is hired for a minimum of a month, and then
on a weekly basis.
